Relationship Transition (Separation & Divorce)

For adults, the top ten most stressful events in their lives are as follows:

1. Death of a spouse
2. Divorce
3. Marital separation
4. Imprisonment
5. Death of a close family member
6. Personal injury or illness
7. Marriage
8. Dismissal from work
9. Marital Reconciliation
10. Retirement

(Ceremony for “Letting Go”)

As you can see divorce is only 2nd to death of a spouse, and there are many smaller deaths within the death of a marriage. Through the difficult process of separation and divorce. When the hard legal work is complete, there is often an outfall of grief and loss, even in a welcomed parting.

As a woman who has experienced a divorce I understand the many losses that can come with this experience. I also benefitted greatly from my own unwinding of my marriage and a family ceremony acknowledging the change in our family unit. As a Certified Life Cycle Celebrant I offer unwinding ceremonies for individuals, couples and families after the process of divorce. Releasing our partner and ourself from the vows made during a marriage ceremony is possible and can be very helpful. Releasing our rings and sharing new vows of care and commitment with our children can be very healing.

There can be a wide array of elements to a ceremony and it is tailored to a person, couple, or families specific ending needs.

Please contact me to discuss this further, I welcome hearing from you.

Warmly,

Lisa-Marie
